Rick doesn’t want to get close to Andrea because he fears that he could lose her too. Maggie goes to get supplies with Glenn to see how that experience goes and feel safer knowing what Glenn does. Carl is struggling with coping with the loss of his eye and he feels that Rick especially cannot understand.

Review:

Glenn overhears the plans of the resistance to kill Rick. The group is mapping the area and seeing what the surroundings look like. They are planning on protection for the group from zombies and are planning on blocking off roads. Nicholas followed Glenn home and is threatening his safety. Rick returns and sees what is going on and he shows strength and leadership that they will not be taking the community back from under them.

Carl’s memory is impaired. He no longer remembers Judy at all and his memories of Lori are vague and basically disappeared from his cognition. Rick is planning on a food run for the group in order to secure supplies for the winter. Some of the original community members are feeling that Rick and his crew are a threat and that they will be the death of them. They are planning a resistance.

Abraham feels guilty about cheating on Rosita. Andrea is spending time with Rick while he struggles with dealing with Carl’s injury and she cooks him dinner. Rick talks to Lori on the phone again, but she doesn’t seem to want to talk to him again. Carl woke up and he asked for his Mom.

I love how this cover shows that Rick is still human, and that through all of this, he still feels emotion. I love the black background and the lightness of Rick. This may be one of my favourite covers just for the sheer intensity and isolation of it.

They are burning all the zombie bodies. Rick admits to having no choice but to sacrifice Jessie after she wouldn’t let go of Ron. It goes to show how desperate and protective Rick is of Carl and how he would not put that in danger and would do anything that needs to be done to ensure the greatest safety for him. Rick and the community are thinking of ideas that will create a better future for them all and that they will be able to be safe in the town. Carl is still in the infirmary. Rosita found out about Abraham’s cheating with Holly and she has decided to leave him.

I really like this cover. It once again shows Rick making sure that Carl is safe, and that he is maintaining how protective he is as a father and that ultimately Carl is his son and is still a kid.

The group manages to thin out the zombies and reclaim the community as their own. Carl is recovering, and Rick has regained a sense of hope with all that has happened and believes that they will be able to secure the walls, invest in training, and become an army to defend against all threats and attacks and that the zombies are manageable, but the biggest threat is other humans being the obstacle.
